EBPOM 2010 - The 9th EBPOM Conference

The 9th Evidence Based Perioperative Medicine (EBPOM) conference will be held on the 1st and 2nd of July 2010 at the IET London.

The conference aims to give a broad and evidence based overview of current topics in perioperative medicine by experts in the field.

To stimulate debate and to dissect the sometimes opposing views that interpretation of evidence produces.

To provide an in-depth study of core perioperative skills through a number of associated workshops.

Current topics and controversies include:

  • Is Anaesthesia really such a risky business?
  • Periopeative pain – humanity or outcome?
  • Postoperative cognitive dysfunction
  • Is it possible to prevent organ failure?
  • Is it possible to prevent perioperative infection?
  • Trauma care for the 21st century
  • Will new European guidelines reduce perioperative cardiac risk?
  • Can and should patient reported outcomes change care?
  • What should you do with perioperative haemodynamics?
  • Does control of perioperative glucose matter?
